Supports sleep quality
In 2002, during a clinical trial of a new drug, a participant who had taken glycine as a placebo (dummy pill) noticed that their physical sluggishness had eased the next day and that they had slept deeply. This is how glycine’s sleep-improving effect first drew attention.
Glycine is said to work to lower core body temperature, and people are said to start feeling sleepy when their core body temperature drops by about 0.5°C. It is known that after taking glycine, brain waves called “delta (δ) waves” increase. Delta waves are the brain waves that appear during deep sleep. Taking glycine increases delta waves and can be expected to improve sleep quality.
Supports a balanced gut and smooth bowel movements
Candle bush is said to help expel stool and waste that have built up in the bowels.
Candle bush is characterized by its very high dietary fiber content, with about 19% of it made up of dietary fiber. This is said to be 6 times that of burdock root, 12 times that of cabbage, and 20 times that of sweet potato.
Supports normal immune function
Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare designates zinc as a specified nutrient, setting the daily intake at 11 mg for men and 8 mg for women. This is because excessive intake can cause zinc toxicity (dizziness, nausea, stomach discomfort), abnormal copper metabolism, and anemia. In recent years, papers have been published on zinc and immunity. There are also papers reporting that excessive zinc intake can lower zinc levels. To absorb zinc efficiently, improving the intestinal flora is necessary.
Supports gut health
The sliminess of okra comes from the mucilage in its dietary fiber—specifically, water-soluble fiber such as pectin. Dietary fiber is broadly divided into two types, water-soluble and insoluble, and okra contains a good balance of both.
Antibacterial action & intestinal flora support
Ume (Japanese plum) has a wide range of benefits: its citric acid can be expected to help promote intestinal peristalsis, provide antibacterial action, aid recovery from fatigue, and improve the intestinal flora, while its catechins can be expected to provide antibacterial action and improve the intestinal flora.
Packed with dietary fiber—great for gut care
Agar contains one of the highest amounts of dietary fiber of any food, and is said to be effective in helping guard against lifestyle-related diseases and in relieving constipation.
When dietary fiber absorbs water in the large intestine, it swells, adding bulk to the stool and softening it. Stool like this stimulates the intestinal wall and makes bowel movements easier.
Antioxidant action for everyday wellness
Curcumin, contained in turmeric, has strong antioxidant properties. This antioxidant action removes reactive oxygen species and reduces oxidative stress on cells, and is expected to help protect cells from damage and aging.
Helps increase good gut bacteria
Rice koji contains oligosaccharides and dietary fiber. Because the good bacteria in the gut feed on dietary fiber and oligosaccharides to multiply, rice koji activates the bacteria in the intestines and can be expected to improve the intestinal environment.
Water-soluble fiber for a lively gut
There are two types of dietary fiber, “insoluble” and “water-soluble,” and Japanese yam is rich in “water-soluble fiber,” which dissolves in water. Water-soluble fiber turns into a gel in the intestines and appears to help make elimination smoother. It also serves as food for good bacteria and may help bring the intestinal environment into good condition.
Antioxidant action & cell activation
Diterpenes obtained from rosemary leaves are reported to suppress the formation of oxidized substances and lipid peroxidation. Carnosic acid also works on and activates the cells’ protective functions, helping protect body tissues from oxidative stress, and is expected to help guard against the body’s “rusting” and arteriosclerosis.
Also supports healthy skin
Thyme contains saponins, a type of natural compound found in plants. Because saponins have antioxidant properties, they can be considered an effective ingredient for helping guard against skin aging and for supporting firm, radiant skin.
Supports immune function
Its main component, thujone, has strong antibacterial and preservative properties, and its tannins have antioxidant properties. They are said to be effective in helping guard against aging, decline in immune function, cancer, arteriosclerosis, and more.

Understanding how important it is to raise immunity in guarding against all kinds of illness, I studied immunology in depth.
In 2020, while working at a long-term care health facility for 100 elderly residents in Funabashi City, I saw elderly people who were hospitalized every month even though they were cut off from the outside world during the COVID-19 pandemic and were taking more than ten kinds of medication. I concluded that the cause was that they were unable to raise their immunity, and this led to my research into a Kampo-based beauty and immunity theory that aims to raise intestinal immunity (acquired immunity) and vascular immunity (innate immunity) at the same time.
Through 17 years of cancer immunotherapy at Shin-Nihonbashi Ishii Clinic (Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), in which NK cells were multiplied and activated, I learned from experience that multiplying and activating NK activity is the best approach to cancer treatment. Immunotherapy that activates T cells relies on what are called NKT cells, whose immune strength is far weaker than that of NK cells. There are no pharmaceutical drugs that raise immunity. Over these 17 years, I came to understand how important it is to raise immunity in guarding against all kinds of illness, and my in-depth study of immunology led to the development of this supplement.
